Our last recipient of the Professionalism Award is a cosmetologist that has been recognized by the education staff for her hard work and dedication! We are happy to announce that this past months winner is Jersee Grubb! Here is what she has to say about her winning this award and her plans for her future!🫶🏼💫 •What are you the most proud of so far? I’m most proud of becoming a Level 2 cosmetology student because it’s an achievement that doesn’t come easily. Over the summer, I struggled with motivation, but I decided to put all of that energy into setting clear goals for myself. In July, I got very close to leveling up, which pushed me to work even harder in August. With the support of my friends, family, and educators, I was able to reach those goals. I’m proud of myself for staying focused and proving that with determination and effort, even the hardest goals are possible. •What does receiving the professionalism award mean to you? Receiving the professionalism award means so much to me because it reflects not just the work I’ve put in, but the way I’ve tried to carry myself every day with respect, kindness, and hard work. It’s such a good feeling to see that those values were noticed and appreciated by others! I try to show up every day, do my best, and love making others feel beautiful, so to be recognized for that feels really special! •When do you graduate, and what area do you plan to start working? I graduate in December and plan to work in a Salon somewhere between Cabot and Little Rock! I am interested in all things blonding/extensions and would love a salon who can help provide the knowledge and skills to further my education! I truly love everything about TSPA, the instructors and staff, the friends, the environment! What made you choose to start a career in the beauty industry? I’ve wanted to pursue a career in the beauty industry for over a decade. I was always the friend in high school that did the hair/makeup and I loved every second of it. I loved the process and I loved the reaction of how it turned out, it made me feel like I had a purpose. What are you most proud of so far? Honestly, I’m really proud of receiving this award. My peers recognizing me for the effort I put into myself and school everyday is actually so beautiful. When you graduate, what area do you plan to start working? I’m planning on doing hair after I graduate, I’m really hoping to do a lot of vivids!!! What advice would you give to someone that is beginning the cosmetology or esthetics program? Your journey is truly what you make it. I was really worried about starting my program because I saw a lot of people with so many negative things to say, don’t listen to them!!! 🌟Today we are celebrating and recognizing the students who received the Professionalism Award during the month of August Allow us to congratulate and share with you our Esthetics recipient, Bonnie Permenter! Here’s what she had to say on winning this award!🌟 The professionalism award to me is recognition and validation of the hard work I’ve put into the last 6 months here at TSPA. It’s an acknowledgment that I have put myself out there and done what I needed to do in order to earn my license. My favorite part of my TSPA experience has been the lovely friends I made while also developing my skills for my career. An “Ah-Ha” moment I had during my course was realizing I actually liked doing lashes and could pursue that as a separate certification. I’ve always been a skincare and makeup girlie and LOVED making people around me feel valued and gorgeous in their own skin. I’m most passionate about giving all of my clients the confidence that they deserve. I’m most proud of earning my lash tech certification and leveling up to a level 3. I plan to work a little closer to home doing lashes and eventually adding in facials and waxes once I get the hang of being more independent. I want to be in a smaller salon just for the sake of closeness and connection to my clients (who I love so much!!). The advice I would give to other beginners in the esthetics course is LOCK IN. there is no “I’ll just do it tomorrow” make it so much easier on yourself and just complete it as it comes. You’ll feel so accomplished and proud of yourself. ALSO PLEASE ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF!!! You are worth so much and know your capability! My strongest attributes… I genuinely just want to make the people who come to me for services KNOW that it’s my goal to give them what they want. I want the lashes to LAST and look beautiful. I want the skin glowing. And I want the confidence to shine!! I am so open to communicating and working out a plan for what works for me and my client!!! #littlerockbeautyschool #tspalittlerock
